The big Wedding Finalists 2015: OUR BIG WEDDING EXPERIENCE

By Christopher and Maureen Mutabazi: Hi Jackie , hope you're well. I would like to take this opportunity to share our big wedding experience.  It was around June 2015, when I and my wife heard big wedding adverts running on 91.3 capital FM. Being our favorite station we were always listening in so we didn't miss any information regarding how to apply etc. Having introduced (customary marriage) in April the same year, we thought this was the best opportunity to get holy matrimony through the big wedding. This seemed a like dream which was never going to become true. We wrote our story and I submitted it myself direct to capital radio offices to ensure that it got there. The anxiety to be selected began immediately after submission. We prayed night and day to be among the top 20 finalists. My wife was about 8 months pregnant and to some extent we were worried that, we would not be selected, but we kept strong and praying.  We kept our ears on radio every morning waiting

It took me time to believe it was real since I hadn't followed Season 1. I was working in a place where I couldn't pick Capital Radio and by then it wasn't streaming live. Along the way I consulted my husband whether or not to apply. He gave me a go head to, since we had the qualifications. However, even if he gave me a go head to apply, I didn't apply that very day. I had a lot of hesitation whether it was real. On the last day, few hours to its deadline I sent it through an e-mail. At one point I regretted why I sent it Reason being I did it on the last day, there could have been so many entries after all. Anyhow I left it to God. Time came for the letters to be read on air for those that have been short listed to top 20.

By Cathy & Gordon Amanya: It’s a moment I will never forget! Every day, I reminisce the magical moments of that date.  It was that moment that I always dreamt of, walking down the aisle with the man of my dreams Gordon Amanya; the only one who ever stole my heart. A year after Gordon and l had lost our first born there was a brief separation but the love we had for each other surpassed everything, so we made up. Gordon heard the big wedding promo on Capital FM and he applied, followed all procedures and through voting by Capital FM fans, we made it to the top twenty , then to the top ten and finally to the top five. That was the peak of the competition. We started soliciting for votes from workmates, family and friends and well-wishers. It came to a point where we would approach strangers, and request them to vote for us. We bought airtime of all networks, our well-wishers influenced other people and even bought for them airtime, our bosses too campaigned. We use

Welcome to My World

I am profoundly excited about my new passion and adventure online. First I revived my social media life through actively participating on Twitter as my major platform and very soon LinkedIn. With the growing usage of the internet we are left with no options but to fall in.  The Inside Box East Africa is a platform i will be using to put across my opinions on given topics and also to communicate closely with all other people around the world. When we look at the world around us, quite a lot of events unfold every single day and both your opinion & mine are subjectively important. I am curiously looking forward to hearing all your thoughts in my comments box. By Jackie Lumbasi  lumbasinake@gmail.com
